TOEFL-Stuttgart-Citycenter

In the citycenter of Stuttgart you will find our TOEFL-Testcenters with the signature STN13751A und STN13751B. We are offering 37 places alltogether.

We have rented rooms in the Württembergische Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts-Akademie e.V. (VWA Stuttgart) in Urbanstraße 36 in 70182 Stuttgart.

Please take care to come to the right room and to fill the correct Confidential Statement.
STN 13751 B is in room 2.6 and has Laptops.

STN 13751 A is in room 1.1 and has normal desktops.

Normally we offer a waiting room. You will find a note with the room number on the door before the stair case. Please wait in this room until we call you. Before the test we always need some volunteers to help us to make a small pretest on every station.

Between application and unlocking you for the test, the test administrator will give an explanation and there is room for questions.
There is a nice video from ETS which explains the procedure on the testing day. We are not so formal as shown in the video and we do not have observation cameras.

How do you reach the testcenter:
When you arrive at the mainstation it is most easy to walk (10 minutes). Enter on Googlemaps "Urbanstr. 36, Stuttgart" to see the right way. The nicest way is through the Schloßgarten. Between the Oper and the Landtag there is an underpass under Konrad-Adenauer-Straße.
If you are not from Stuttgart, it is raining or you don´t like to read maps, you can take the tram. Change from mainstation to the tram platforms below. Take line U5, U6, U7 or U12 in the direction of Degerloch and get off at "Charlottenplatz".
If there is no Cityticket included in your train ticket, press the key "K" for Kurzstecke on the ticket machine of VVS (costs 1,- €).
If you arrive at Charlottenplatz from the mainstation, you have to change the side (there is an underpass under the lines). When you come with the tram from Degerloch, you are on the correct side. Leave the station in the direction you came from.
Go the stairs up to leave the station and follow the small way on the left side along the "Musikbücherei".

You will automatically reach Urbanstraße. Just follow the street for around 500 meters.
On the opposite of VWA is the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst.

Car drivers
If you are lucky you may find a parking place in Urbanstraße on Saturday or Sunday.
Please keep in mind: If you drive down the "Weinsteige" you cannot enter directly into the Urbanstraße. You first have to go to Konrad-Adenauer-Straße and turn the first street right into Ulrichstraße.
You will have less stress if you use the car parks "Staatsgalerie" or "Landtag" at the Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, depending on the direction you are comming from.

The TOEFL iBT has very strict security standards, which we are obliged to enforce.
In order to minimise complications on the test day, we would like to remind you of the most important regulations:

- You will have to present a valid passport with a photo, where we can recognise you
(we can accept ADDITIONALLY other kind of photo ID-cards like driving license, student card or your university credential, etc. IF the photo on your primary ID is older). The final decision is with the test administrator.

- You are not allowed to bring any electronic equipment. Mobile phones have to be switched off.

- Scratch paper and pencil will be provided by us

- There is no space for personal belongings (like rucksacks…). If they are a stumbling-block, the test administrator will tell you to store it in the waiting room or corridor. Items are left there at the owner´s own risk.

If you like to use your mandatory break of 10 minutes for a cigarette, please go outside the building.

Around the official starting date (e.g. 12:00) there is a time frame of 30 minutes. So you can start between 11:30 and 12:30 o’clock. If you are delayed (in this case 12:31) we don’t have the possibility to log you in. You then have to contact ETS to arrange a new testing date.

We would like to ask you to arrive 60 minutes before the official starting time. If everybody is there on time, the check-in will be finished 30 minutes before the official beginning and we can get an early start. If you come late you may hear the noise of other people taking the "speaking part" while you are still in the "listening part". We also start cleaning the test room in the presence of latecomers.

Please DON`T call us for any questions about the test. We are only responsible for offering you a secure, controlled and clean testing environment. For any questions about the test itself you should call the help desk in Amsterdam 0031-320-239 540 or send an email via the TOEFL-website. Changes and cancellations under 0800-18 39 708.
