German courses in Freiburg at the Sprachschule zum Ehrstein

The Sprachschule zum Ehrstein was founded in 1999 and operates 3 schools in the heart of Freiburg. Freiburg is considered as one of the historic jewels of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) and ranked as the most sunny town in Germany.
The town with its 230.000 inhabitants has something to offer for everyone: Culture, nature and lots of activities.

Apart from regular German classes for adults, the Sprachschule zum Ehrstein also runs a junior course in the summer on a beautiful property of 500 square metres.

Bright classrooms, a cozy loung area, a roofgarden and plenty of working space will make any student feel at home.
As a member of the Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache (a professional association of universities that teach German as a Foreign Language) the school is known for high quality teaching.

The junior course of the Sprachschule zum Ehrstein is being held every year in July and August. Students can join the course for two, three or four weeks.
The course is perfect for students aged 10 to 17. Also, participants will be divided by age (10 to 13 and 14 to 17) and by their current level of German.
There are 3 levels: Beginners with previous knowledge (1-2 years of German in school), intermediate learners (3-5 years of German in school) and advanced learners (6-8 years of German in school).

Tuition consists of 20 diverse lessons of German classes in the morning with different projects and role play to ensure the communication of the students. In the afternoon and evenings students can participate in all kinds of activities and excursions.
All teachers at the Sprachschule zum Ehrstein are qualified and the activities are also supervised by skilled staff.

After the lessons in the morning and a healthy lunch, the school offers a wide-spread activity programme for the students. Acticities can vary between climbing, going to the swimming pool, mountainbiking or barbecues and quiz nights in the evenings.

On the weekends, one of the two days is usually spent doing a day trip. Typical day trips can be to a nearby zoo, to Lake Contance or to another popular town. One of the most popular excursion is to the Europapark, Germany's biggest amusement park.

All the activities and excursions are of course accompanied by members of the staff and they make it easy for the students to use their language skills which were taught to them in the morning. A perfect mixture of fun and learning!

After a long and exciting day full of learning and fun, students return to their accommodation to get a good night's sleep. Students have to option to choose either from host families or residence.

Host families are a great way to get to know the German culture even better and use the newly acquired German skills. Students usually have single rooms and can choose between half-board and full-board accommodation.
Some families are younger, some are older with or without children. Some also have pets. Students can let us know their preferences in the booking form.

For students who chose the residence, a supervisor is on-site 24/7 to help students or answer all sorts of questions. The residence offers quadruple rooms and halg-board or full-board.
